QUITO, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Thirteen people died from the A/H1N1flu in Ecuador last week, raising the country's total death toll to 36, the Ecuadorian Public Health ministry said on Tuesday.
Authorities were testing another four deaths, possibly also caused by the A/H1N1 flu, the ministry said.
So far the total number of confirmed A/H1N1 cases in Ecuador has risen to 1,382, according to the ministry.
Ecuador reported its first case of the flu on May 15, and the virus has been confirmed in 24 Ecuadorian provinces including Galapagos Islands.
