BEIJING,
August 24 (Xinhuanet) -- Murder suspect Ryan Jenkins has been found dead at a
motel in Canada. Jenkins had been sought by Orange County police from California
in the United States for first-degree murder following the discovery of his
former wife Jasmine Fiore who was found stuffed into a suitcase in a suburban
Los Angeles garbage bin.
According to reports Jenkins arrived at the motel in
a Chrysler PT Cruiser with Alberta license plates. He apparently and stayed in
the car while a woman checked the two in. Kevin Walker, who manages the
Thunderbird Motel near Hope in British Columbia, around 160 km east of
Vancouver, said the woman traveling with Jenkins paid cash for three days. But
when the couple didn't check out, he unlocked the room and found Jenkins hanging
from the bar of a clothing rack. The identity and whereabouts of the woman has
not been revealed.
Last week gruesome details emerged concerning the
murder of 28 year old Playboy model Jasmine Fiore. Police said the model's teeth
and fingers had been removed, perhaps in an effort to prevent identification of
the body. Ryan Alexander Jenkins, 32, who was married to the former swimsuit
model for a short time, had been charged with her murder, and was believed to
have fled to Canada.
Fiore's ex-boyfriend, Robert Hasman, last week urged
Jenkins' friends and family to help police find him calling Jenkins "an animal"
and describing the killing and mutilation of his former girlfriend as an
"unspeakable" act.
Jenkins who was a contestant on the VH1 reality TV
show "Megan Wants a Millionaire" met Fiore in a Las Vegas casino. They were
married on March 18 but had the marriage annulled only a few months later. Court
records show that Jenkins was charged in June in Clark County, Nevada, with a
misdemeanor count of "battery constituting domestic violence" for allegedly
hitting Fiore on the arm and was due to be tried in December.
