Chinese vice premier to attend world climate conference

    BEIJING, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu will attend the third World Climate Conference to be held in Geneva, foreign ministry spokesman Qin Gang announced here Tuesday.

    Prior to his presence at the conference, Hui will also visit Slovenia, Lithuania and Latvia starting from Aug. 26 at the invitation of Slovenian government, Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius and Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis respectively, said Qin.

    The third World Climate Conference, organized by World Meteorological Organization, is scheduled to be held in Geneva, Switzerland from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4.
