MEXICO CITY, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Mexican President Felipe Calderon left
Mexico on Wednesday for an official visit to Colombia, Uruguay and Brazil,
presidential office said.
Calderon will meet his Colombian counterpart Alvaro Uribe in Colombia's
capital Bogota and speak at the opening of 12th International Book Fair on
Wednesday.
On Thursday, Calderon will place a wreath at Bogota's monument to Simon
Bolivar, hold a second meeting with Uribe and receive the keys of the city from
Bogota mayor Samuel Moreno Rojas.
Calderon will meet his Uruguayan counterpart Tabare Vazquez on Friday and
spend the weekend in Uruguay before flying to Brazil on Monday.
Alongside Calderon, the Economy Minister Gerardo Ruiz Mateos, the Foreign
Minister Patricia
Espinosa Cantellano, the leaders of the ruling National Action Party, major
opposition Institutional Revolutionary Party and left-wing Revolutionary
Democratic Party will accompany during the visit.
