BRUSSELS, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- A woman who helped three convicts make a spectacular helicopter escape from a high security prison in Belgium was arrested on Tuesday, VRT news reported.
Lesley Deckers, the girlfriend of one of the escaped prisoners, was picked up by police at a friend's house in Beringen, Limburg province, about 65 km northeast of Brussels.
The police found Deckers' car in Beringen on Monday. They arrested her on Tuesday and took her to a venue to be questioned by the federal police. Deckers' friend has also been brought in for questioning.
Deckers was the one who rented the helicopter for the escape on July 23 from the Bruges prison. The three prisoners have all been re-captured. It is reported that one of the prisoners arranged the details of the escape using a cell phone that had been smuggled into prison.
