TEHRAN, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- The secretary of Iranian Journalists Association said on Thursday that the office of the association has been sealed off by judiciary officials, the satellite Press TV reported.

Badr al-Sadat Mofidi, the secretary, said that judiciary officials carrying a warrant sealed off the place Wednesday night.

"The reason behind the out-of-office-hours shut-down is unclear," Mofidi said, adding that a few weeks ago, a scheduled meeting of the association on the recent post-election arrests was called off following contacts from security and intelligence officials.

The office was shut down as the members were expected to meet on Thursday to discuss changes to the articles of the association, according to Press TV.

Following Iran's post-election unrest, Tehran adopted measures to normalize the political situation of the country expecting the media to cooperate with the officials and not to flare up the street protests.

In June, Iran banned foreign journalists from news coverage in Tehran following three days of street violence and protests against Iran's presidential election result.
