11 of the 34 injured are in serious condition, while the rest 23 suffered light injuries. All the injured are now being treated in the hospitals.

The train derail accident was caused by a rain-triggered landslide.

Train 1473, from Xiangfan in central Hubei province to Zhanjiang of south Guangdong province, derailed at early morning Wednesday in a narrow valley in Liuzhou City of Guangxi. The locomotive and its first four sleeper cars derailed, said the Nanning Railway Bureau.

All the 34 injured had been transferred to four hospitals in Liuzhou with better facilities. In the ward, survivor Chen Dian told Xinhua reporter that passengers were sleeping when the derail accident occurred.

Soundbite: Chen Dian, the train accident survivor "I felt the train shaky uttering grinding sound, which was not the same sound in normal operation. Things in front fell upon me in the wake of inauspicious feelings. My bed fell apart, leaving me on the ground, on the stones, which hurt my feet so much. Many others were knocked down aside with things in a mess."
