Ousted president Zelaya meet U.S. envoy for solution to Honduras crisis

    MANAGUA, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya met the U.S. mission led by ambassador Hugo Llorens on Thursday, trying to seek a solution to the political crisis produced by the coup of June 28 in Honduras.

    After the meeting which was held in Honduran embassy in Managua, located in Las Colinas district, south of Tegucigalpa, Llorens said it was "a pleasure to see again President Manuel Zelaya, who as you know, is the government that the U.S. recognizes."

    Llorens said "the meeting was a chance to discuss the political scene and the way the international community is working to restore the democracy in Honduras."

    To the moment Zelaya have not talked about his meeting with the U.S. mission.

    While Zelaya and the U.S. mission were meeting, in Honduras the army repressed the protesters demanding the return of power to Zelaya.

    On Thursday, Zelaya also announced the creation of a people's army of pacific resistance which will start to be trained and educated to prepare the democracy's return to Honduras. 

Ousted Honduran FM complains inadequate U.S. response 

    MANAGUA, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Ousted Honduran Foreign Minister Patricia Rodas Thursday urged Washington to do more to ensure the reinstatement of deposed president Manuel Zelaya.

    The meeting between Zelaya and U.S. ambassador to Honduras Hugo Llorens in Managua, capital of Nicaragua, on Thursday ended without any new proposals, said Rodas.  Full story

Honduran police, soldiers dislodge Zelaya's followers

    TEGUCIGALPA, July 30 (Xinhua) -- The Honduran police and soldiers Thursday dislodged, with teargas, hundreds of followers of ousted President Manuel Zelaya when they were occupying a highway in Tegucigalpa.

    Zelaya's followers were attacked with teargas and gunshots, in a boulevard in El Durazno town.  Full story

Zelaya announces training of pacific resistance army

    MANAGUA, July 30 (Xinhua) -- The National Front of Pacific Resistance created by ousted Honduran president Manuel Zelaya in Nicaraguan border with Honduras, will become the People's Army of Pacific Resistance, Zelaya announced Thursday.

    Zelaya announced in Ocotal, 26km to Honduran border, the beginning of a training, education, exercise, and vigilance stage of the new people's Army.  Full story
