Australian Sprenger breaks men's 200m breast world record

    ROME, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Australian Christian Sprenger broke the men's 200m breaststroke world record with a time of two minutes 07.31 seconds in the semifinals of the world swimming championships on Thursday.

    The previous record of 2:07.51 was set by Kosuke Kitajima of Japan in Tokyo on June 8, 2008.
