BEIJING, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares opened mixed Tuesday.

    The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped slightly by 0.03 percent to open at 3,434.32.

    The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.31 percent to 13,785.85 at the opening.
