ROME,
July 23 (Xinhua) -- Olympic champion Guo Jingjing and Wu Minxia of China won
their fourth women's 3-meter synchronized diving world title at the world
championships here on Friday.
Guo, who won her fifth consecutive world 3m
springboard title on Tuesday, has also won the synchronized event for the fifth
time in a row. She won the event with Wu in the worlds in 2001, 2003 and 2007
and with Li Ting in 2005.
Guo had won the 3m springboard in the last two
Olympic Games. She also teamed with Wu to win Olympic synchronized title twice.
Guo and Wu, who won the last two Olympic synchro
titles, collected 348.00 points from their five dives.
Italy's Tania Cagnotto and Francesca Dallape
delighted the home crowd by taking a surprise silver medal with a score of
329.70.
The Russian pair of Julia Pakhalina, who won the
one-metre springboard gold on Sunday, and Anastasia Pozdniakova recovered from a
botched fourth dive to claim bronze.
