BEIJING, July 24 -- China's most famous men's 110m hurdlist Liu Xiang participated in the shooting of the TV Promo of 2009 Shanghai Golden Grand Prix (SHGGP) Thursday.

    Wearing a bright red and white sports suit, Liu Xiang performed well in front of the camera, and the crew felt more at ease after seeing Liu Xiang walking around without any pain.

    Liu Xiang began the one-and-half-hour shooting with his partner, a black actor named Inusa, after arriving by his famous Giant bike at 9 o'clock.

    Initiated in 2005, Shanghai Golden Grand Prix is a grand sports event annually hosted by Shanghai in late September.

    This is the final year of this event, since it will be upgraded to a higher level competition of International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) from 2010. The TV Promo will be shown in early August.

    As stipulated by IAAF, only athletes who rank among the top 40 in the world are entitled to this event. Since 2005, in every competition around 15 world-class athletes including Olympic champions, world champions and world record holders are invited by the organizer. The 2009 Shanghai Golden Grand Prix will be held Sep 20 in Shanghai Stadium.

    In 2005 and 2006, Liu Xiang got the 1st of Men's 110m Hurdles in SHGGP while Dayron Robles of Cuba got the 1st in 2007.
