BERLIN, July 20 (Xinhua) -- German Cup winner Werder Bremen added the German Super Cup to their collection on Monday when they beat Bundesliga champion Wolfsburg 2-1.

    Bremen's Per Mertesacker scored after 20 minutes and Clemens Fritz notched the winner in the 81st, after Grafite, last season's top league scorer, had tied the game in the 67th.

    Captain Torsten Frings failed to convert a last-minute penalty for Bremen.

    The Super Cup pits the league champions and Cup winners against each other.
