JAKARTA, July 20 (Xinhua) -- An Indonesian TV station broadcast Monday the bombing suspect and moments when the bombs exploded in Indonesia's two lavish hotels that killed 9 persons and wounded more than 50 others on Friday last week.
The footage taken from the hotels closed circuit TV (CCTV) showed a man, who was believed to be the bomber, came out from a taxi and dragged a suitcase.
In the footage broadcast by the Metro TV showed that the bomb suspect underwent the regular security check through a metal detector at the J.W. Marriott hotel.
The TV reported that the suspect, identified as Nur Hasby aliasNur Said, booked a room at the hotel on July 15 by phone. It also reported that the suspect crafted the bomb while he was staying in his room.
In other scenes taken from the CCTV recording, the same man with the same cloth, dragging the same suitcase, checked out from the hotel and the bomb exploded on 7:45 a.m. local time. The man allegedly committed suicide in the bombing.
Meanwhile, another footage from Ritz Carlton hotel's CCTV showed the scene of another man who was dragging a suitcase and followed by two women came into the Erlangga restaurant at the hotel a few minutes after the explosion at the J.W. Marriott hotel adjacent to the Ritz Carlton.
The bomber suspect at the Ritz Carlton used the panic situation to slide into the hotel and detonated the bomb. He also allegedly committed suicide in the bomb attack.
In the TV interview, the mother-in-law of Nur Hasby believed that the suspect was not her son-in-law.
"I can see it from the gesture and the physical body of the suspect. Nur Hasby was a bit shorter and had different gesture from the man shown in the footage," Siti Lestari, Nur Hasby's mother-in-law said in the interview aired live on Monday.
Nur Hasby, who reportedly graduated from an Islamic boarding school in Surakarta, Central Java, was a humble man and worked as a key smith and glass seller to support his daily life, Sri Lestari said.
As of now Sri Lestari failed to contact either her daughter who married to Nur Hasby or Nur Hasby himself.
Indonesian police are still hunting for the bombing perpetrators who are believed to be the operatives of Jemaah Islamiyah terrorist group that bombed the J.W. Marriott hotel on Aug. 5, 2003.
The group is now led by Malaysian notorious terrorist Nurdin Top after its leader Dr. Azahari was killed in a police ambush. The same group also masterminded bomb blasts in Bali on Oct. 12, 2002 that killed hundreds of innocent tourists.
