BAGHDAD, July 20 (Xinhua) -- A U.S. marine has been
killed in Iraq's western province of Anbar, a U.S. military said Monday.
The statement said the Multi-National Force-West
(MNF-W) marine was killed on Sunday in "a combat-related incident as a result of
enemy action," but failed to give further details.
MNF-W is headed by the U.S. II Marine Expeditionary
Force. Their area of operations is in Anbar province in western Iraq.
About 4,327 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq
since the outbreak of Iraq war in March 2003, according to media count based on
Pentagon figures.
