KABUL, July 19 (Xinhua)-- A suicide bombing rocked the border town of Torkham in Nangarhar province east Afghanistan Sunday, Interior Ministry said in a statement.
"A terrorist wearing suicide vest blew himself up in Torkham town at 02:10 p.m. local time, killing two police and wounding a civilian," the statement said.
Three more persons including a police constable and two passersby got wounded.
Meantime, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai the spokesman for Nangarhar governor told Xinhua that the bomber targeted border police killing two policemen and injuring seven others including police and passersby.
No groups or individuals have claimed responsibility. Taliban militants who staged a violent comeback three years ago have vowed to speed up activities this year in Afghanistan.
