TEHRAN, July 16 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Atomic Energy
Organization Chief and the country's Vice President, Gholam Reza Aghazadeh, has
resigned, the local ISNA news agency reported.
Aghazadeh confirmed to ISNA that he had forwarded his
resignation from his responsibilities in the Atomic Energy Organization and from
the country's vice president to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad about twenty days
ago.
Also, Aghazadeh confirmed that his resignation has
been accepted by the President, the report said.
Gholam Reza Aghazadeh has served as the country's
vice president and Iran's Atomic Energy Organization Chief since 1997 for 12
years.
