MEXICO CITY, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Haiti confirmed the nation's first three A
/H1N1 flu cases on Wednesday.
Two of three cases are Chilean soldiers serving with the United Nations
Stabilization Mission for Haiti (Minustah), and the other one is a 23-year-old
Haitian citizen, Health Minister Alex Larsen said.
¡¡ All of them are in a stable condition, he said.
Minustah said in a separate statement that the soldiers entered the nation
early this month alongside nine people who are also suspected of having A/H1N1.
The Haitian who caught the flu had not traveled outside the nation and had
not been in contact with the Minustah troops, Larsen said.
He added that samples from 61 people are being tested in laboratories
overseas, and Haiti has 14 hospitals that can diagnose and treat the
illness.
