NICOSIA, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Thirty-four new cases of the A/H1N1flu have been detected in Cyprus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed case in the country to 201, the island state's health ministry announced on Thursday.
The ministry, which can only monitor the situation in the Greek Cypriot south, said 416 persons with flu symptoms have undergone tests and 201 of them have been diagnosed with the virus.
So far, 100 patients have recovered, according to the ministry.
Meanwhile, health authorities in the Turkish Cypriot north have so far confirmed 12 cases of the epidemic, increasing the total number of the flu cases on the eastern Mediterranean island to 213. ¡¡
