STOCKHOLM, July 9 (Xinhua) -- A European health agency said Thursday that 200 new A/H1N1 flu cases were reported in European countries within the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases, 66 were confirmed in Cyprus, 50 in Germany, 14 in Greece, 11 in Switzerland, 10 in Portugal, nine respectively in Ireland and Sweden, seven in Belgium, six respectively in Finland, Italy and Norway, two in Hungary, one respectively in Poland, Slovenia, Romania and Slovakia, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) said in its daily situation report.
The total number of confirmed cases of the H1N1 flu in the EU and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries rose to 11,020, with 870 cases in Spain and 7,447 in Britain, 403 in France and 641 in Germany, the ECDC said.
The ECDC publishes a daily situation report about the H1N1 flu cases in the EU and EFTA countries based on official information from these countries. ¡¡
