STOCKHOLM, July 8 (Xinhua) -- A European health
agency said Wednesday that 238 new A/H1N1 flu cases were reported in European
countries within the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases, 22 were confirmed in Spain, 32
respectively in France and Malta, 43 in Germany, 28 respectively in Italy and
Switzerland, 25 in Greece, nine in Sweden, six in Finland, four in Portugal,
three in Ireland, two respectively in Lithuania and Romania, one respectively in
Belgium and Estonia, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control
(ECDC) said in its daily situation report.
The total number of confirmed cases of the H1N1 flu
virus in the EU and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries rose to
10,820, with 870 cases in Spain and 7,447 in Britain, 403 in France and 591 in
Germany, the ECDC said.
The ECDC publishes a daily situation report about the
H1N1 flu cases in the EU and EFTA countries based on official information from
