MANAGUA, July 8 (Xinhua) -- The Costa Rican ambassador in Managua, Antonio Tacsan, said on Wednesday that it is "an honor" for his country to host the mediation dialogue for the current political crisis in Honduras.
Costa Rican President Oscar Arias confirmed on Tuesday that he will mediate the dialogue between ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya and post-coup leader Roberto Micheletti, which will start on Thursday.
The meeting will be held in Arias' residence in San Jose, capital of Costa Rica. Tacsan said that the meeting will start at 11:00 a.m. local time (1700 GMT), in an attempt to find a solution to the political conflict in Honduras.
"President Arias has said that the solution to the Honduran conflict can be achieved only with trust, looking into each others eyes and seeking the most honorable and positive exit for the country," Tacsan noted.
The ambassador added that Arias, who is a Nobel Peace Prize winner and also temporary president of the Central American Integration System, has great experience in mediating political conflicts in the region. ¡¡
