Pakistani army kills 4 terrorists, arrests 34

    ISLAMABAD, July 7 (Xinhua) -- During the last 24 hours, 4 terrorists were killed including two terrorist commanders and 34 were apprehended in northwestern Pakistan's Swat and Bunnu districts, the Pakistani army said in a press release Tuesday.

    Pakistani security forces killed terrorist commander Muhammad Rasol, brother of Ibn-e-Amin, and Commander Akram when they carried out a search and sweep operation in selected houses at Shukdara in Swat. The army said they also apprehended 13 suspected terrorists along with some weapons.

    The statement said a local terrorist commander Wahab was killed and 14 others suspected terrorists were apprehended in a house to house search operation at Bararai near Khawazakhela.

    In Bunnu, the security forces conducted a search operation at Maddi, killing one terrorist and arresting seven suspected terrorists.

    Meanwhile, the army said 12 trucks carrying 50 tons of army rations have been dispatched to Chakdara in Dir district, and 83,896 cash cards have been distributed amongst the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Malakand.
