TIRANA, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Macedonia has confirmed its first cases of the A/H1N1 flu in two patients who got infected abroad, news reports from Skoje said Sunday.
Macedonian Health Minister Bujar Osmani told a press conference on Saturday that a London-based referential lab has confirmed the two cases after further testing the samples sent by Macedonia.
One of the patients is still being hospitalized, but is in a stable condition, and the other has already recovered and been discharged, he said.
Macedonia is still waiting for the result of testing on the third case, Osmani said, adding that no new suspected case of the flu has been registered in Macedonia for the past 24 hours.
The identity of the two patients has not been revealed. "This is in line with the principle of protection of patients' rights," Osmani said.
