CHONGQING, July 4 (Xinhua) -- One coal miner was dead, one was rescued, and another four remained missing Saturday after a gas leak in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.
The accident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. at Kangjia Mine in Sanhui Township, Hechuan District, when six miners were underground, local government sources confirmed.
The sources previously said five miners were working underground.
Rescuers found one body and saved another.
The private mine is licensed and has expanded its annual production capacity to 120,000 tonnes from 50,000 tonnes after technological innovation.
The mine accident is under investigation.
