South Korea's A/H1N1 flu cases rise to 253

    SEOUL, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Another 15 people in South Korea were found to have been infected with the flu A/H1N1 on Friday, raising the nation's total number to 253, health officials said.

    The 15 cases include a 10-year-old South Korean boy who had traveled to Australia late last month, and a 27-year-old Philippine woman who lived here and had recently traveled to her homeland, according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

    The school where the infected boy attended was closed on Thursday as a precautionary measure.

    Health authorities were also tracking down the other passengers and crew members on the same flight of the confirmed patients.

    According to the latest tally by the WHO, more than 89,921 confirmed cases of A/H1N1 flu infections and 382 deaths have been reported worldwide since it was first detected in April.

    No A/H1N1-related deaths have been reported in South Korea so far.
