SINGAPORE, July 3 (Xinhua) -- China's Li Jun won gold in the boys' shot put
finals at the first Asian Youth Games held here on Friday.
The 16-year-old Li Jun enjoyed a comfortable lead in the finals with a
score of 19.45 meters. Kargar Nejad Mehdi from Iran followed in the second place
with 16.76 meters, while Bumroong Panyawut from Thailand edged into the top
three with 15.95 meters.
The first Asian Youth Games is held in Singapore from June 29 to July 7,
with some 1,400 athletes aged between 14 and 17 from 45 Olympic Council of
Asia's members competing in 90 events across nine sports.
