BEIJING, July 3 -- The blue-and-white small passenger
plane took off at 11:21 a.m. wednesday and made a successful landing after
62-minute flight. It maintained a height of 3,000 meters with a speed of about
335 km/h.
After landing, the pilot said the test flight
was a success adding that all technical problems during the first test flight in
November were solved.
Soundbite: Luo Ronghuai, supervisor
of ARJ 21 project, said, "The third and fourth ARJ 21 aircrafts are scheduled to
undergo test flights within this year. Our main work at present is focusing on
investment raising, certificate applying and test flights. Our goal is to
deliver the first ARJ 21 lateral aircraft to the users next year."
The ARJ 21 plane is China's first
domestically-manufactured mid-range passenger jet to be sold to developed
countries in Europe and the United States.
