BOGOTA, July 2 (Xinhua) -- The National Health Institute of Colombia on
Thursday reported eight more cases of the A/H1N1 influenza, which brings the
number of confirmed cases of the disease to 101 in the country, including two
deaths.
The new cases were found in four women, two men and two children, said the
institute.
According to the Social Protection Ministry, there are currently 1,491
possible cases in Colombia, which was the first South American country to report
A/H1N1 flu cases.
A 24-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man had died from A/H1N1 flu in
Colombia. The government has tightened control at hospitals and health centers
to avoid a large-scale outbreak of this disease in this country.
