BANGKOK, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's Public Health Ministry on Wednesday announced 59 more patients, who are confirmed to have infected with the A/H1N1 flu virus, bringing the country's total number to 1,473.
Of the total new confirmed cases, 41 are students and two others had just returned from overseas visits, Public Health Minister Witthaya Kaewparadai said, Thai language news agency INN reported.
The 12 others are domestically infected patients, while officials are investigating the origin of the illness of another four A/H1N1-virus-contracted patients, he said.
Of the total 1,473 confirmed cases, 1,448 have already recovered, while 22 others are still treated in hospitals, he said.
Thailand's death toll from the flu has remained at three since June 27.
The country had its first two confirmed patients on May 12, andaccording to the World Health Organization, Thailand ranked 33rd as the country, which has been hit by the deadly new virus.
