    YAOUNDE, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Cameroon President Paul Biya on Tuesday named Philemon Yang as the new prime minister of the country in government reshuffle efforts, state radio said.

    The newly appointed premier, who used to be the secretary general at the presidential office, replaces Ephraim Inoni at the head of the government, whose shakeup includes 12 ministers, according to a presidential decree broadcast on state radio.

    Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo'o was made defense minister to replace Remy Ze Meka.

    The reshuffle also covers the ministries of posts and telecommunications, communication, education, the women promotion, water and energy, as well as sports.
