Bhutanese PM visits India for enhancing bilateral ties

    NEW DELHI, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Bhutanese Prime Minister Lyonchhoen Jigmi Y. Thinley began Monday for a four-day visit to India, the first foreign head of government to visit India since the Congress-led government began a second term last month, reported the Indo-Asian News Service on Tuesday.

    Thinley will meet with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday and discuss an entire array of bilateral issues, including expanding economic and trade ties and development partnership between the two countries, said the report.

    He is also set to meet President Pratibha Patil, Congress chiefand Congress-led ruling United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi, External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, the report said.
