STOCKHOLM, June 29 (Xinhua) -- A European health
agency said Monday that 55 new A/H1N1 flu cases were reported in European
countries within the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases, 22 were confirmed in Germany, 15 in
Greece, five in Cyprus, three in Bulgaria, two respectively in Belgium, Ireland
and Portugal, one respectively in Sweden, Norway, Luxembourg, and Romania, the
European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) said in its daily
situation report.
The total number of confirmed cases of the H1N1 flu
virus in the EU and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries rose to
6,173, with 541 cases in Spain and 4,250 in Britain, 239 in France and 388 in
Germany, the ECDC said.
The ECDC publishes a daily situation report about the
H1N1 flu cases in the EU and EFTA countries based on official information from
these countries.
