CORFU, Greece, June 28 (Xinhua) -- The European Union (EU) on Sunday condemned the arrest of Honduran President Manuel Zelaya by the army and called for a return to the constitutional order in the Central American state.
"This action is an unacceptable violation of constitutional order in Honduras," said EU foreign ministers in a statement.
The EU urges "the urgent release of the president and a swift return to
constitutional normality," the statement said.
The ministers were meeting in the Greek island of Corfu after attending
a meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
