ISLAMABAD, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani government Sunday announced
rewards for tips leading to the capture alive or dead of11 Taliban leaders and
commanders, including Pakistan Taliban chief Baitulalh Mehsod.
A reward of 50 million rupees ( one U.S. dollar is approximately equal to
80 rupees ) for information about Baitullah Mehsod, chief of Tehreek-e-Taliban
Pakistan, has been announced ina newspaper advertisements Sunday.
Maulvi Faqeer Muhammad, Taliban deputy chief, based in Bajaur tribal
region, carries a reward of 10.5 million rupees.
A bounty of 10 million rupees each has been announced for Hakeemullah
Mehsod, deputy to Baituallah Mehsod and important commander Qari Hussain who is
considered to be the teacher of suicide bombers.
Abdul Wali, a senior Taliban commander in Muhmand tribal Agency,carries
10.4 million rupees.
Informers will get 10 million rupees each for information abouttwo other
Taliban commanders Qari Shakeel and Commander Tariq.
There are also other four commanders whose informers will get 5million
rupees rewards.
The advertisement from the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) government
said innocent Muslims and their children are killed dueto the bloody activities
of the wanted militants leaders. Their inhuman, condemnable and cruel actions
not only defame Pakistan but also disrepute the Muslims across the world.
Last month the NWFP government had also announced rewards for information
leading to the arrest alive or dead for 21 militants of Swat valley of NWFP ,
including its chief Maulana Fazalullah.
In March, the U.S. State Department had also offered a 5 million U.S.
dollars reward for information on Baitullah Mehsod, who the government claims is
linked to the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
