GUANGZHOU, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Nangka, the fourth
tropical storm this year, made its second landfall in south China's Guangdong
province early Saturday morning, before weakening to depression.

The storm landed in the Aotou Township of the Dayawan
development zone at 1 a.m., according to the Guangdong provincial meteorological
administration.
It then weakened to tropical depression at 2 a.m.,
and was located at 22.8 degrees north and 114.5 degrees east. It packed winds of
58 kilometers per hour.
The administration forecasted that Nangka will
continue weakening while moving to the north at a speed of 20 kilometers per
hour.
Nangka will lash Guangdong with gale and torrential
rains on Saturday.
The tropical storm had churned ashore at 10:30 p.m.
Friday in Huizhou City.
It brought rains at the eye, but Xinhua reporter
didn't see big influence of local people's life, as the roadside restaurants
were still open and taxis continued services.
Previously, the third tropical storm Linfa roared in
south and east China, triggering torrential rain, strong winds and landslides.
At least one was dead and another six missing in Guangdong, Zhejiang and Fujian
provinces.

The storm brought heavy rains at its eye. More rains are expected in the next two days in coastal areas as Nangka is moving northward, according to the provincial meteorological administration. Full story
China issues alter on tropical storm Nangka
BEIJING, June 26 (Xinhua) -- The State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters issued an alert Friday on the upcoming tropical storm Nangka, which is expected to land in the southeast China's Guangdong Province Friday night or Saturday morning.
The eye of Nangka, the fourth tropical storm of the year, was located at 410 kilometers southeast to Shenzhen as of 11 a.m. Friday, packing winds of up to 74.5 km per hour, according to the headquarters. Full story
