BEIJING, June 23 -- The death toll from the A/H1N1 influenza in Chile
continues to rise.
Health authorities say a 67-year-old woman, who
suffered from pulmonary fibrosis died Monday from complications caused by the
virus.
A 45-year-old-woman also died Saturday- bringing the
death tol in the South American country from the outbreak to seven.
Chile report 4,315 A/H1N1 flu cases. Of those 161
people are in grave condition.
According to "The Straights Times", the Chilean
government declared a health emergency last week. It allows hospitals to hire
additional staff and purchase any supplies needed to deal with the pandemic.
