BEIJING, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Senior officials of
China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will hold their
annual meeting in the east China city of Nanjing on June 24 and 25, Chinese
Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang announced Monday.
Assistant Chinese Foreign Minister Hu Zhengyue and
deputy foreign ministers of ASEAN countries will attend the meeting.
They are scheduled to discuss China-ASEAN relations
as well as regional and international issues of common concern.
Founded in 1967, ASEAN comprises Brunei, Cambodia,
Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Laos, Thailand and
Vietnam.
