KABUL, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Afghan police during routine patrol found explosive material from outskirts of the capital city Kabul and defused it, a press release of Interior Ministry said Sunday.
"The explosive device was discovered from Farman Khil village in the suburban area of Kabul Saturday and was defused," the press release added.
Moreover, police on the same day discovered some mines planted by Taliban militants on the roads in Logar, Paktika and Paktia provinces and defused them, the press release further added.
Taliban fighters in their new tactic to mount pressure on Afghan and the U.S.-led forces have resorted to planting mines on roads and carrying out suicide attacks.
