A/H1N1 flu cases near 300 on Chinese mainland with 33 new ones, no deaths

    BEIJING, June 18 (Xinhua) -- China confirmed 33 new A/H1N1 flu cases Thursday, bringing the total on the mainland to 297 with no fatalities.

    Financial hub Shanghai and southern economic powerhouse Guangdong Province reported nine and seven new cases, respectively, while the capital Beijing confirmed four from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 p.m. Thursday, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.

    Among other provinces, Fujian reported five, Sichuan three, Liaoniang two and Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Tianjin each confirmed one.

    Of all patients, 135 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the statement.
