TEHRAN, June 18 (Xinhua) -- A top Iranian reformist body, made up of influential clerics, has asked for authorization to hold a pro-Mousavi rally on Saturday in Tehran, the local satellite Press TV reported on Thursday.
The Association of Combatant Clerics (Majma'-e Rowhaniyun-e Mobarez) made the request via a letter to Tehran's governor's office, the report said.
The rally is scheduled to be held on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. (1230 to 1530 GMT) from Enqelab (Revolution) Square to Azadi (Liberty) Square to protest the results of the country's recent presidential elections, in which the defeated presidential candidate Mir-Hossein Mousavi will address protestors, according to Press TV.
Former reformist president Mohammad Khatami and the members of the Association of Combatant Clerics will reportedly participate in the rally as well.
On Wednesday, Mousavi called on his supporters to stage a peaceful mourning rally or gather in mosques for a day of mourning on Thursday for those killed in demonstrations against what he said was a rigged election, according to a statement posted on his website Wednesday.
At least seven people have been killed at the mass rally held by tens of thousands of Mousavi's supporters, the English-language Press TV reported on Tuesday.

After the official declaration of the election results, Mousavi protested "strongly" the "obvious" violations in Iran's presidential election. He also appealed to the Guardian Council for a cancellation of the election result.
