southwest of China.
China's Ministry of Civil Affairs has appropriated 6
million yuan for Chongqing to deal with the aftermath of the landslide in Wulong
County, which took place on June 5, according to the Chongqing municipal
government.
The money will be used in disaster relief, including
direct aid to families of the victims, the evacuation costs and preliminary
housing for local residents, and compensation for other affected people during
the rescue process.
Meanwhile, the landslide rescue headquarters has
dispatched 320 staff to console the families of the dead and the missing.
At present, efforts to rescue the 27 workers buried
