First cases of A/H1N1 discovered in Oman

    MUSCAT, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Oman's Health Ministry on Wednesday announced that three Omani students studying in the United States were confirmed infected with influenza A/H1N1, the first such cases in the Sultanate, state media reported.

    An official source of the Ministry said in a statement to the Oman News Agency (ONA) that the three students, who arrived in Oman on June 13, have been treated with all appropriate measures.

    They are now in stable conditions and advised to stay at home till fully recovered, the source said, adding that the families of the patients are also closely followed up.

    Oman joined the Middle East countries that have reported cases of the epidemic flu, which also included Israel, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Egypt, Bahrain, Qatar, Yemen, Morocco and Jordan.
