JAKARTA, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia is to host the sixth Eco-Product
International Fair next year, as an effort to boost its falling export products
following the global recession, co-chairman of the Indonesian Chambers of
Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Rahmat Gobel said here Monday.
The global recession has sapped demand and prices of export products from
emerging markets, including Indonesia.
The chairman said that among the fair activities were international
conference and exhibition on eco-products.
The exhibition would display eco-products in Asia through the
implementation of sophisticated technology, said the chairman.
The event involves cooperation among the KADIN , Asian Productivity
Organization (APO), and National Productivity Organization (NPO) Indonesia.
The event would be conducted in March, Gobel said.
"Over 300,000 visitors are expected to visit the event," he said.
The first eco-product fair was held in Kuala Lumpur in 2004, followed by
Bangkok, Thailand in 2005, Singapore in 2006, Hanoi, Vietnam in 2008 and the
fifth in Manila, the Philippines in 2009.
