BEIJING, June 11 -- Egypt reported five more A/H1N1 flu cases at a dorm of the American University in Cairo, bringing the number of cases to eight in the country, the Health Ministry said Tuesday at a press conference.
The ministry has quarantined the dorm for seven days, involving 110 students and 124 teachers. And 111 Egyptian workers at the dorm have been examined.
Egypt reported Monday two more A/H1N1 flu cases, who were both 23-year-old students coming from the United States. WHO's regional office said Tuesday it was "possible" they spread the disease during the latency period.
Worldwide, almost 25,300 people in 73 countries have been confirmed to be infected, WHO said on Monday. WHO also added 14 fatal cases, raising the total number to 139.
