BANGKOK, June 8 (Xinhua) -- The value of the Thai baht at 35.00-36.00 per U.S. dollar is the most favorable to exporters as a stronger baht is a detriment to the country's exports, Deputy Prime Minister Korbsak Sabhavasu said on Monday.
The baht has recently appreciated against the U.S. dollar due to capital inflows to invest in the Thai stock market, Korbsak was quoted by the Bangkok Post's website as saying.
Currently, the Thai baht was trading in a range of 34.00-34.50 a dollar, according to domestic commercial banks.
The Bank of Thailand needs to look into this matter and to prevent the dollar/baht speculation in order to support exporters, the report said.
