BEIJING, June 6 -- More than 1300 policemen from Zhongshan city of south China's Guangdong Province launched a massive crackdown against criminal activities to further intensify efforts to maintain the security of the region.
The campaign of crackdown against criminal activities highlighted police's efforts to fight against robbery, burglary, prostitution, gambling, drug trafficking and mafia-style organizations, according to Zhongshan Public Security Bureau.
A man was detained during the crackdown for illegal drug procession, said a police with the bureau.
The suspect was taking taxi when he got captured. Policemen found in his belongings 19g of methamphetamine, a deadly addictive stimulant drug which is popularly known as "ice", "crystal" or crank, and a small amount of ecstasy.
