HAVANA, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Dominican Republic Health authorities reported
on Thursday 10 new cases of A/H1N1 flu in the country, bringing the total
infections to 33.
According to information reaching here from Santo Domingo, capital of the
Dominican Republic, six of the 10 new cases were from the National District,
Santo Domingo province, one from La Altagracial and one more from Samana.
The Dominican Republic Health Ministry said that it has taken swift action
to control the spread of the new virus, including ordering the use of masks at
all health centers in the country.
Currently five provinces plus Santo Domingo have reported confirmed cases
of A/H1N1 flu.
The General Direction of Epidemics (DGE) said that all the patients, 20 of
them under age 15, are receiving treatment at their homes for quarantine
purposes.
