BEIJING, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Houston Rockets' center Yao Ming dubbed
Thursday in cartoon film Malan Flower and donated all the income to the Shanghai
Special-care Foundation.
"I accepted the invitation of the Shanghai Special-care Foundation because
it's a charity activity," Yao said after a four-hour dubbing at the Park Hyatt
Beijing.
"I'm thirsty to death. I feel like I've spoken for a whole day. And you
must do the dubbing with lots of emotions. It's quite a new experience to me.
Anyhow, I know I'm an amateur. The director gave me great help," Yao said.
Malan Flower will be on the screen on June 19 and Yao fully recommended the
film.
"It's a cartoon of many Chinese culture aspects. It reminded me of the good
memory of the
old China-made cartoons like Brothers Cucurbit and Making Havoc in Heaven.
I hope the audiences recognize my voices in the film of Malan Flower, though my
voice is not beautiful," Yao joked.
Yao was the global ambassador of the 2007 Shanghai Special Olympic Games
and one of the founder of the Shanghai Special-care
Foundation.
