June 4 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Barack Obama said in a major speech to the
Muslim world on Thursday that the United States seeks a new beginning of
relations with Muslims based on mutual interests and respect.
"I have come here to Cairo to seek a new beginning
between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based on mutual
interests and mutual respect," Obama said in his speech, attended by more than a
thousand audience in the conference hall of Cairo University, and widely
broadcasted live.

on mutual respects.
"This issue has been a source of tension between the
United States and Islamic Republic of Iran," he said, referring to Iran's
nuclear ambitions accused by the West of trying to make a bomb.
CAIRO, June 4 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Barack Obama
said in Cairo University on Thursday that the United States supports the
two-state solution, which is in the interest of the world, but the Palestinians
must abandon violence.
"The only resolution is for the aspirations of both
sides to be met, through two states, where Israelis and Palestinians each live
in peace and security," he said, reiterating the widely accepted two-state
solution.

Obama's much-anticipated keynote speech on Thursday noon in Cairo University won
a storm of applause.
His speech, which comes as a fresh attempt to reach
out to Muslims to rebuild U.S. credibility in the Muslim world, was hailed by

RAMALLAH, June 4 (Xinhua) -- The Palestinian National
Authority(PNA) on Thursday said U.S. President Barack Obama's speech was the
first and basic step to establish a just peace in the region.
